Every new athlete at Starke begins in Base Camp.
Why Base Camp? Achieving a higher level of health, fitness, and quality of life takes time and consistency. Just like climbing a mountain like Everest, individuals need to spend time training, acclimatizing, mapping out the route, checking over gear and making sure every aspect of the climb is dialed in. You want to be ready for the things you expect and the unexpected.
In CrossFit, the ten recognized fitness domains are Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.
The more well balanced an individual or athlete is in all ten of these domains the easier it will be for them to take on challenges, pick up new sports or activities, or lead a more fulfilled high-quality and functional life. The more well rounded you are, the more fit for the task you’ll be no matter what that task is.
Starke’s Base Camp is five, one on one personal training sessions that will help to teach you all the required movements before jumping into classes.
The five sessions allow us to teach you all the basic and advanced movements while working on your weaknesses in a low-intensity high-quality setting where movement quality is the highest priority.
These sessions are primarily technique based and finish up with a little “burner” of a workout.
Our goal for Base Camp is to get athletes moving as well as possible with all the movements as they get started. While attending classes and gaining better strength, mobility, and control athletes will be able to challenge themselves more and add the “intensity” portion which is key to producing results and amazing transformations.
